CAN-based Marine applications (MOBD) typically use a flat 6-pin diagnostic connector. This adapter allows a standard OBD2 style device to connect to the CAN and power lines of the Marine connector. Please be aware that most marine applications use a subset of the J1939 (heavy equipment) protocol. Most inexpensive OBD2 scanners only support passenger vehicles and light duty trucks. Check your scanner's capabilities before assuming this adapter will function for you.
The opposite version allows a marine accessory or tester to plug into a standard OBD2 connector.
